Decades of research by John Prudden, MD, provides fascinating evidence about the efficacy of bovine tracheal cartilage (BTC), much of which can be found in various postings around the internet. Prudden, a surgeon, authored 66 journal articles and other publications, including one of particular importance found in the Journal of Biological Response Modifiers, 4:583, 1985. With colleagues at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, he initially demonstrated that BTC dramatically accelerates the healing of wounds and reduces inflammation. This led Prudden to test it for other possible therapeutic applications.

Scores of his patients used BTC, which works by stimulating and normalizing the immune system. Dr. Prudden supervised the investment of over $10 million in research on BTC, showing it to be effective using an optimal dosage of twelve 750 mg capsules daily. This is also the optimal dosage following wounds or injuries. To best facilitate healing after surgery, begin taking BTC one month prior, and continue for two to three months after.
